Sarov (Russian: Саро́в) is a closed town in Nizhny Novgorod Oblast, Russia. Until 1995 it was known as Kremlyov (Кремлёв)., while from 1946 to 1991 it was called Arzamas-16 (Арзама́с-16). The city is still considered a closed town and is off limits to foreigners. It is the Russian center for nuclear research. Population: 87,652 (2002 Census). The town is located mostly on the territory of Nizhny Novgorod Oblast, but a part of it spans into the Republic of Mordovia .............

Los Alamos, NM

Los Alamos (Spanish: Los Álamos, meaning "The poplars") is a townsite and census-designated place (CDP) in Los Alamos County, New Mexico, United States. The population of the CDP was 11,909 at the 2000 census. The townsite or "the hill" is one part of town while White Rock (population 6045) is also part of the town. Technically, both are part of the same incorporated city/county. Los Alamos is home to the Los Alamos National Laboratory, which was founded to undertake the Manhattan Project.
